82-year old women killed in Essex accident

An elderly woman has been fatally injured after being hit by a car in Weeley in Essex.

The woman, who is understood to have been 82 years old, was hit by the car on Clacton Road near Weeley railway station. Paramedics attended but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man, 22, from Clacton, was arrested at the scene of the accident on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
